Afterthoughts about the Anniversary

My Dear Gospel Choir Family, you are all so precious!

It's a couple weeks' "afterglow". I've finally stopped dreaming and re-living the whole 20th Anniversary Celebration weekend, song by song and detail, by detail - mostly from 4am until the sun rises. (Then it's time to get up and go to work!) And now that I can think a bit more clearly, I sure would like to touch bases and somehow express how I feel about what God did through us all. "Wow!" What can we say?? This has been an absolutely fabulous, incredible, yet challenging year of growth for the Wheaton College Gospel Choir! Those of you who joined us this past fall were warned it would be a very full and exciting one. I am so glad that God allowed me and my family to be apart of it all. I am grateful for all your families who traveled from various parts of the world to celebrate God's faithfulness with us. My family members from Cleveland and Oklahoma (all 25 of them) thoroughly enjoyed their time with us, and we are glad they were able to participate and lift their voices as part of the celebration. I know my Mom has already won the CD sales contest. Trust me, Cleveland now knows our music and praise God, it'll soon be playing on stations around the country. Here's a lil' something I dedicate to our producer, Mr. Tunney and for us to remember the message of our songs that we're relaying through this recording: Enjoy! Oh Lord, We Praise You and we continue to fall upon the Mercy Of God and enjoy Sweet Communion with You Alone. Because of God's Faithfulness we Exalt His Holy Name. We are Completely Amazed that He's Always There and all we wanna do is Lift Him Up cause He's Alive! That's why we sing Praise To Our God and Tell The World About Jesus!  - Hallelujah!  Oh wait, is that one of our songs???... Oh Lord, do I hear Album # 3 already???  :)  I believe God is pleased with the service rendered by every person involved. Our Cabinet and our Anniversary Coordinator, Fidela Chiang and her student committee were committed to every detail and accomplished so many incredible goals. We are grateful to our Adult Anniversary Committee who diligently volunteered their time and energy. Our main goals were to glorify God and to have a blast celebrating His faithfulness! I believe we can all say a collective "Mission Accomplished!" As we had hoped and prayed, Edman Chapel was packed full of praise and worshippers. God graciously allowed us to see His vision unfold before our very eyes as the "Parade of Friends" entered into the sanctuary with praise in their hearts and the praise dancers whole-heartedly gave Him glory. You all saw it. We were blessed to witness this occasion. I mean it was so rich. It was Royal! The band sounded strong and tight, and on one accord each voice shouted proclamations of God's Goodness through every song. Even our garments beamed with God's glory! We were unified outwardly and most importantly, inwardly. Our hearts were simply full of praise. God our loving Father, who adores His children lavishly pours out His mercy and love to us. It is fitting that we passionately express our love to Him without reserve. I mean your mouths were open, hands were raised and we all "gave up that praise" He truly deserves. How awesome was that evening as we culminated the entire 20th year with a weekend of High Praise to our Worthy King!   God will surely reward you all, but I'd like to at least try to thank you all for Everything! For Pastor Calvin blessing me with prayer for strength and courage, for every founding member's boldness and perseverance, for each minute spent serving God through the ministry of the Wheaton College Gospel Choir and re-scheduling your time to study for a test or read for a quiz, for all the late nights of answering my emails and calls, for each expression of gratitude, for each Gospel Choir Alumni who sent an email or took time out to come and celebrate, for every Advisor, Mentor and Prayer Warrior's prayers, each detail taken care of to complete the entire vision, word of encouragement, documentation of our history, and each mile flown or driven, Son, for that awesome video tribute, those beautiful flowers from our seniors, for each friend in our parade, for every gift of love, I will forever be TRULY GRATEFUL. History Book

As a means of preserving 20 years of the Wheaton College Gospel Choir's history, we are compiling old pictures, news articles, documents, and other memories into a history book.
